AC Shadows Reveals Surprising AoT Event for Thanksgiving

In a unexpected partnership that breaks traditional expectations, Ubisoft has unveiled an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, including free bonus story content for Shadows players.

Mysterious Mission Disclosed

According to the official announcement, "An unusual encounter pulls heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where hints of banned rituals and monstrous metamorphoses echo through the shadows." The plot presents a "unusually attired woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with traveling into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a clandestine cult.

The questline concentrates on "bizarre trials and a terrifying foe" and is open to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.

Iconic Locations and Transformations

The trailer features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The trailer concludes with a striking moment showing a character, likely the captive, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.

Unique Items and Additional Material

Players who finish the quest will acquire an exclusive katana alongside numerous artifacts concealed throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains in-store Attack on Titan item packs, offering:

• Mikasa attire for Naoe
• Special arms
• Survey Corps vehicle

Latest Free Story Addition

This update also brings the game's latest no-cost story content, titled "A Puzzlement." This humorous adventure pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they trade distinctive abilities: Naoe reveals a performative variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires subduing stealth takedowns. True to its name, "A Puzzlement" also contains a original environmental puzzle that may eventually clarify some unanswered questions from the main storyline.

This marks hardly the primary time the Assassin's Creed franchise has collaborated with famous anime franchises. The series previously showcased a 2020 crossover story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
