Alleged Bondi Shooters Operated Solo and Received No Training in the Philippines, Investigators State.

The two alleged individuals responsible for the fatal shooting at a Jewish event on Bondi Beach, that took 15 lives, reportedly operated independently, per Australian law enforcement.

Investigators further stated that Sajid Akram, 50, and his son Naveed Akram, 24, travelled to the Philippines on 1 November. Their itinerary involved landing in the capital Manila before traveling onward that same day to Davao City. The duo flew back to Sydney on 29 November.

Lack of Proof of Preparation During Stay

Investigators assert the individuals did not partake in any form of attack-related training or "planning" during their visit in the Philippines. Preliminary findings from local authorities point to they "rarely left" their accommodation.

The incident—declared Australia's most severe firearm massacre since 1996—has been formally declared a act of terrorism.

"We are currently examining the footage," the commissioner said, noting that initial assessments indicate that "these individuals are alleged to have been lone actors."

National law enforcement Commissioner Krissy Barrett briefed reporters on Tuesday that security camera video showing the accused attackers' activities in the Philippines had been provided to domestic authorities.

"There is no evidence to suggest these suspects were affiliated with a broader organization, or were acting on orders from external parties to perpetrate an act of violence," the police chief emphasized.

However, the men were also not necessarily in the Philippines on a leisure trip, Commissioner Barrett clarified. She emphasized that, since the inquiry is still active, additional details may emerge.

Earlier, the nation's leader Anthony Albanese said it seems both alleged attackers were "inspired by Islamic State" beliefs.

During the attack, Sajid Akram was fatally shot by police. He and his son Naveed—both armed with firearms—allegedly targeted attendees at the Hanukkah celebration.

Naveed Akram, who was wounded after the attack, has been charged with 59 charges. These encompass 15 counts of murder and one count of carrying out a act of terrorism. He is expected to face court in April.
