Iranian Forces State Assault on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Amid Widespread Counterattacks.

Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed missile attacks across the region in retaliation for a significant and continuing offensive targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone near the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The scope of any damage is unclear and the United States has not commented.

Airspace Engagements

Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting US military bases - stated they have shot down incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.

In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the region.

IRGC Statement

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was striking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the attack on Iran carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.

That initial attack - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted areas linked to the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump calling on the Iranian people to revolt against the leadership.

Wider Impacts

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israeli military stated it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE announced that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems engaged the projectiles with great effectiveness and successfully intercepted a several projectiles," it added.

It said missile fragments landed in a residential area in the capital, resulting in some material damage and fatalities.

The US Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
