On the eve of his half-decade plus one year at the helm, Mikel Arteta has admitted that his future at Arsenal is fundamentally dependent to achieving success.

The Journey So Far: Six Years in Charge

The Spanish coach was appointed on December 20th, 2019 and managed to steer the team to an FA Cup victory within months. However, that early success is still his only major honor following the departure of Unai Emery.

“Yes,” the manager said when questioned about staying beyond 2027. “Yet it's about today. And many things have to happen in the coming months as well to warrant that continuation.”

Saturday night brings the six-year milestone with a fixture against Everton, the identical team Arsenal faced the day after his appointment was announced.

The Current Landscape
