Uche Sparks Dominant Crystal Palace Win at Shelbourne.

Even though embarking on their maiden continental campaign, Crystal Palace are learning at a rapid pace. Without star figures like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the London club departed Dublin with a commanding result that all but secures them a spot in the Europa Conference League playoffs.

A further three points in their upcoming fixture against Finnish KuPS ought to be enough to seal straight entry to the last 16, particularly after a prior setback against Strasbourg.

Squad Members Seize the Moment

This match offered a platform for several Palace's fringe players to shine. Christantus Uche, in only his second beginning since joining on loan from Getafe, opened the account with a well-taken goal. Striker Eddie Nketiah added a another, scoring for the second consecutive succession.

The Shelbourne side that had concluded their domestic season proved no match against a mostly rotated Palace outfit. The visitors were already weakened by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with knee problems.

Shelbourne were hanging on for dear life. Defender Kameron Ledwidge was lucky to avoid a booking for a couple of agricultural challenges on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards rattled the woodwork with a header from a corner.

The match was as good as over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past a series of weak challenges before calmly dispatching a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.

Following the break, coach Oliver Glasner took the chance to rest several individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse came close to scoring his first touch, but saw his effort blocked.

The youngster was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one attempt crash off both posts before being clasped on the line. Uche also blazed a sitter of a chance, showing there is still scope for improvement in his game.

The only concern for Palace was a second-half knock to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This allowed 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to make his first-team debut, rounding off an otherwise perfect evening for the traveling side.
